With the new season approaching, it might be timely to remind everyone of the insurance arrangements the club has for members.
The Hockey Club has professional indemnity and public liability insurance which includes cover for our officials and coaches against claims for accident or injury that arise as a result of them not doing what they should be doing or acting unprofessionally in their coaching. However hockey is a sport where accidents occur simply as a result of playing a game involving hard sticks and balls and a danger of collisions that are no one’s fault. The Hockey Club does not take out insurance against personal accident for its members or for participants in its courses and camps. So if you wish to protect yourself against personal accident we would ask that you take out your own cover.
