Unable to play for 2 weeks due to frozen pitches the L7s were pleased to be travelling to Braintree for a friendly against the newly formed Braintree 4s.
With a full squad and with Coach Richard Ross on the sideline for support the L7s looked forward to an enjoyable, but challenging match. We weren’t disappointed with the match played over 4 quarters to allow for team feedback on both sides there was end to end play and chances for both teams. Unfortunately, nothing would connect for Chelmsford 7s, it was not our day, but Braintree managed to score in the last few minutes of the match!
Player of the match for getting stuck in new junior Catherine, special mentions to Jess for making many runs and chances for the team and to Gemma who also in defence helped block the Braintree attack. A great team effort, with everyone working hard and thinking about their play and putting into practice our training. Well done everyone!
Thank you also to the Braintree 3s & 4s Captain Sandra and Braintree Hockey Club for your hospitality, tea, fun match and joining us for mascot and selfie photos – great sportsmanship. We look forward to reciprocating and welcoming you to Chelmer Park soon.
The Ladies 7s Player of the month proud to be sponsored by Purcell Locksmiths.
