The ladies 3s started strong with majority of the possession. A strong press from the whole team forced numerous chances, leading to our first two goals scored by Abi and Henney. Both goals were the result of excellent passages of play between midfielders Sally, Pien, Fiona and Lou with some excellent posting up from the attackers Abi, Henney and Jo.

Following this superb start, goals continued to flow leading to a 5-0 result at half time. This included another goal scored from Abi, a fantastic reverse hit from the top of the D.  Henney in excellent positions on the post and penalty spot, scored two more goals before half time, making it her hat trick!

Straight into the second half Witham came back fighting. Despite this team green managed to convert two quick goals in the first 5 minutes. The first goal coming from a shot at the top of the D by Henney and touched in by Sophie. The second goal was the result of Pien’s fantastic driving along the baseline and slipping the ball to Jo D on the penalty spot who flicked it in.

Chelmsford started to tire towards the end of the match, resulting in some quick pressure from Witham. Defenders Lilly, Sophie, Sally and Connie responded well to the pressure, making some key tackles to keep a clean sheet. Ending the match, two more goals were scored by Chelmsford, scored by Abi and Jo G, making it a hat trick for Abi!  Henney again took a fantastic shot from the top of the D, touched in by Abi through the legs of the keeper. Jo Guy scored the final goal of the match, a deflection into the goal from a pass from Henney. Midfielders Pien and Lou created some excellent space wide creating more opportunities for the attackers.

A fantastic team effort, including some great determination in front of goal. Player of the match was awarded jointly to Pien Kam and Henney Murray.
