Richard Bird’s funeral

Sally DaltonNews

We are incredibly sad to announce that Richard Bird lost his battle with cancer on Saturday evening.  He died at home, peacefully, with his family.

A message from Polly:

Simon, Andrew and I are overwhelmed by the many messages of condolence we have received since Richard’s death on Saturday. We would be delighted to see any of our hockey family at the funeral (see below), and would welcome all who attend to join us afterwards at Channels to raise a glass or two in Richard’s memory. If you are able to attend could you let me or one of the boys know by Friday latest (Little Channels Request) for catering purposes. You can contact me on 07779023755, or via pollyjbird@yahoo.co.uk. We will have a memory book at the crematorium and after at Little Channels for people to leave thoughts and memories of Richard. If you are unable to make it to the funeral but wish to add to the book, please send a short note and we’ll add it in. Richard wanted the day to be one full of happy memories and a celebration of his life. Thanks, Polly x
