Following the latest UK Government advice concerning the COVID-19 virus, the situation regarding the country’s hockey activities has changed dramatically, with statements issued by various governing and league organisations.
As at 8:30pm on Monday, 16th March, the Chelmsford HC Management Committee has decided to suspend all club activities, both on and off the pitch, until at least 15th April. This includes all senior and junior matches, senior and junior training, Hockey Heroes, Junior Easter Camp, Club Day and social activities i.e. Ladies Night and Men’s Dinner. Furthermore, we have been notified that the biennial visit of HC Zevenbergen juniors to Chelmer Park, scheduled for the weekend of 18/19 April, has also been postponed to, hopefully, later in the year.
For details of how the various competitions and leagues may be impacted please see below.
Finally, we encourage all members, families and friends to heed official advice concerning this virus outbreak. Stay safe and, with luck, we’ll be able to resume playing the sport we love before too long.
