Chelmsford 6th XI started brightly in their home game against Braintree Academy, who were just one place above them at the start of the day.
Chelmsford open the scoring 15 minutes into the game when Matt Gore turned in a right wing cross from Joe Cater. Chelmsford soon increase their advantage with a short corner goal from Ben Middleton. The home side kept up the pressure throughout the first half, but were unable to extended their lead.
Although the visitors tighten up their mid-field in the second half Chelmsford still manage to create plenty of chances, but were continuously frustrated by the Braintree goalkeeper. The final score remained at 2-0, a win that takes Chelmsford 6th XI up to third in the league.
