The game started off with a solid press from Chelmsford and what seemed like a constant attack on the Southend defence; shots were taken but unfortunately none could make it across the line with one shot hitting Will Cooper on the post. The game was in Chelmsford’s control until a Southend counter attack which left the team a goal down. Despite this Chelmsford carried on with more chances and the majority of possession throughout the game.
A disappointing result this weekend after a storming win the week before. A close game dominated by a strong Chelmsford team with the problem of not hitting the target enough, and with strong performances from Tom P, Calders and Foxy with man of the match for a solid, skill full and creative game through out.
The 3-2 scoreline was a knockback for the team but with hard work next week, a win is on the table. Also a special mention to Charlie Robinson for his attacking play up the right hand side of defence truly opening up channels and through balls.
We will come back next week and fight again and hopefully achieve a strong win.
