Chelmsford got off to a good start with an early short corner but unfortunately Kate Maxey’s strike from the top was very well cleared by a diving save.
The teams were evenly matched until Sevenoaks won a short corner soon after which was put away leaving Sevenoaks 1-0 up. Before half time Sevenoaks won two more short corners which were both strikes from the top leaving them with a 3-0 lead at half time.
In the second half of the game Chelmsford upped the intensity allowing more opportunities to play forwards. However, Sevenoaks then scored their 4th short corner and soon after a goal in open play. In the rest of the half the defensive pressure was very strong, defending short corners really well and keeping them out of the D. Despite lots of aggression and getting shots off on target, Chelmsford could not score.
The 1s are looking forward to the last three games of the season facing Southgate, St Albans and Cambridge City.
