Chelmsford’s 6 XI travelled to Saffron Walden hungry for another win after last weeks’ unfortunate defeat. With the squad bolstered by some new players Chelmsford made their presence known by pressing hard and securing an early lead through a well placed shot from Owen Groves. As the first half continued, Chelmsford continued to shut out Saffron Walden who found it difficult to get near the Chelmsford goal.

At the halfway point, Chelmsford came back into the game determined to correct any mistakes from the first half and quickly scored a second goal via a clever tap in from Joe Cater, increasing their lead and forcing Saffron Walden to look for more direct routes to Chelmsford’s goal. With some great goalkeeping and outstanding defending from Man of the Match Tim Akhurst, Saffron Walden couldn’t break through and the game ended on a very solid 2-0 win for Chelmsford, who are now back up the top of the table in 3rd.
