Result: Loss 0-2
The Men’s 6th XI looked to continue their impressive start to the season against top of the league side East London Men’s 6th. It was a fast paced start at Chelmer Park as both sides wanted to take control. The well drilled East London side managed to break the deadlock early on and Chelmsford went 1-0 down. Soon after the first goal, East London were able to convert a short corner to make it 2-0 in a game that was quickly looking like a bad situation for Chelmsford. However, some decisive moment and great saves from man of the match Tom Pegrum kept Chelmsford in the game and play started to pick up.
As the second half continued, it was clear that both sides were giving it their all and Chelmsford fought hard for all the possession they could get. After the toughest game of the season so far, the score finished 2-0 to East London, but Chelmsford 6th XI proved that they aren’t to be taken lightly in a league they have been recently promoted to.
