The 5th XI put in a determined performance against Havering 3’s and deservedly come away with a 2-2 draw.

On a bitterly cold afternoon at Chelmer park the play flowed from end to end as both sides played open free flowing hockey. Both goalkeepers were busy producing a string of excellent saves. Goal scoring was not easy.

Havering took the lead from a penalty corner to lead 1-0 at half-time. Chelmsford responded via an Alan Boddy goal only for Havering to go ahead from a penalty corner.

The men in green showed real spirit and were rewarded with a Scot Reilley goal to share the points.
