A disappointing 3-1 defeat for the 5th XI against a strong East London 6th XI.

The 5’s started well, moving the ball with pace, and deservedly took the lead from a Dan Bacon goal. Each side created chances and both goalkeepers were kept busy producing good saves. Chelmsford won several penalty corners but were unable to convert them into goals.

East London broke the deadlock and went in at half-time leading 2-1 following two goals from their skillful right winger.

Chelmsford worked hard but without fluency in the second half and chances were few. East London extended their lead just before the end and ran our worthy 3-1 winners.
