After last week’s disappointing result the Ladies 6’s braved the Saturday traffic to go to Redbridge. From the start Chelmsford pressed and created a lot of chances, some last ditch tackling and some good saves meant the ball would just not go in.

Then against the run of play Redbridge scored, awarded a short corner the Redbridge attacker smashed the ball past the Chelmsford defence.

This only spurred Chelmsford on, within 5 minutes they had equalised.

Winning a free hit on the left, Karen Gibson passed to Sophie Hayter who drove into the D and her shot was deflected in by Sue Rhodes.

Half time, a fairly even first half with Chelmsford probably just edging it.

If the first half was just shaded by Chelmsford the second half was a lot more one sided with Chelmsford creating chance after chance unfortunately the ball would just not go in.

The players gave 100% and fought for every ball, pressed high and created chances. A good effort by all.
