U10Bs at In2Hockey competition 12/03
The Under 10 Boys put up a creditable performance at the Essex In2Hockey competition at Redbridge on March 12th. The familiar galacticos of Old Loughts and Blue Hornets were a mountain too high to climb but strong showings in the other games gave a worthy mid-table position in the pool.
Crostyx – lost 0-3
Blue Hornets B – drew 1-1
Old Loughts B – drew 0-0
Blue Hornets A – lost 0-7
Old Loughts A – lost 1-7
Colchester – won 2-0
The day was notable for all 4 goals being scored by Alexander Collins who joined the club last month and was playing his first fixtures. Alexander linked well with Leo Parrish to give Chelmsford some attacking threat. Other noteworthy performances came from Patrick Towns occupying a central position, Cameron Waite in defence and Edward Flanagan operating on the left. Goalkeeper Max Tombs was in fine form, Aaron Bateman supported Cameron in digging a defensive trench and Daniel Jansen linked midfield and forwards well.
The boys never gave up and having spent 4 hours on site a win in the final match was a just reward for their efforts.
