It is with great sadness that we announce that long-standing Chelmsford HC member, Sue Miller, died peacefully yesterday afternoon at Farleigh Hospice following a brave fight against cancer.

“Millie”, as she was known to most, was a permanent fixture between the posts for, first, Chelmsford Ladies HC and, following the clubs’ 1998 merger, for the newly formed Chelmsford HC until illness prevented her from playing last season.  A goalkeeper who played for every Chelmsford team during her career and an enthusiastic and able performer for the mixed teams in various fixtures, festivals and tournaments throughout the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s, she will be missed by many.

While funeral arrangements will be announced in due course, the thoughts of everyone at Chelmsford HC are with Sue’s brother, Tim, and extended family.
