We regret to announce the recent death of club Vice-president and local farmer, Hugh Scantlebury.

Hugh was an active Chelmsford Hockey Club member throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and a founder member of the club’s men’s Veterans team under the captaincy of Bill Greenwood.  He held the honour of scoring the team’s one hundredth goal!

The thoughts of all at Chelmsford Hockey Club are with Hugh’s family.

A celebration of Hugh’s life will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday, 13th September, 2023 at St. Mary the Virgin Church, Matching, Harlow, CM17 0QZx.
