Men’s 5th XI v Brentwood

adminMatch Reports

A convincing 9-0 victory at home on Saturday. Despite holding possession in the first 15 minutes of the game, Chelmsford had to work hard to break through the Brentwood Academy defence, with several chances on goal and short corner attempts.

Persistence eventually paid off and we were rewarded with a goal from Scot Reilley mid-way through the half. With support from midfield we were able to continue to put pressure on the Brentwood end for the remainder of the half, securing 2 further goals from Max Harder taking us into the second half 3-0 up.

With the priority to keep a clean sheet, the Chelmsford defence had a solid match and kept the play wide in our half.  It was good to see several players on the scoresheet in the second half, with Cameron Clark scoring early on in the half, followed by 2 goals from Scot Reilley, a goal from Dan Burch and 2 goals from David Farmer.

A great team effort and win, our next fixture is at home against Romford 2.
