David KitchinerNews

Following the announcement that the UK have moved to Step 3 of the Government Roadmap, England Hockey have confirmed that from Monday, 17th May we have moved to Step 5 of the Return to Play roadmapStep 5; Full competitive match play, leagues and competitions resume.

This news means that EH’s revised Championships offer will go ahead as planned and league play-offs, where undecided, can be concluded. The other significant change affecting us is that spectators are now permitted in all outdoor and indoor settings.  Social distancing rules and social gathering limits for each setting must be followed at all times – discrete groups of 30 outdoors and groups of six or two households indoors.

Changing room are also permitted to open, although the advice is to avoid their use or keep it to a minimum. Players are still advised to arrive changed and shower at home. As our changing rooms are currently closed for redecorating, we have no plans to reopen them at the moment.

All other COVID-19 risk mitigations for hockey remain in place.
