Result –  3-3 Draw

A challenging match and hard fought draw.  Although Chelmsford started off well it was Old Loughtonians who took an early lead in the first half capitalising from attacking short corners with two well struck shots on goal.   At 2-0 down Chelmsford found their form opening up the play, creating chances down the left hand side of the pitch and a goal from Nick Bastian taking the scoring to 1-2 at the end of the half.

Both teams got off to a strong start to the second half with chances created at both ends.  Despite a goal from Old Loughtonians 10 minutes into the half, Chelmsford played confidently and continued to press with our efforts eventually rewarded with a well deserved goal from Dan Bacon.  Chelmsford defended well through the remainder of the half and maintained pace in attack and pushing for an equaliser.  With only a few minutes to go Chelmsford were awarded a penalty flick.  The flick was well taken by Paul Shadbolt sending the ball to the right of the keeper resulting in a 3-3 draw at the final whistle.

A strong team effort to take us into our next match against Chelmsford 6th XI next week.
